Could Depression Be an Allergic Reaction to Modern Life?

Have you ever wondered if depression could actually be an allergic reaction to modern life?

George Slavich, a clinical psychologist at the University of California would say - yes!

When we are sick and there is some kind of inflammation in our body we usually have negative mindset and expierence emotions and behaviors that are similar or same to those in depression: unwillingness to get out of bed, loss of appetite and negative thoughts.

Modern life is clearly not an inflammation, but it is something that our body and mind is reacting to in such a way.

"I don’t even talk about it as a psychiatric condition any more," he says. "It does involve psychology, but it also involves equal parts of biology and physical health."
